We’re starting the Deme 1.3 development diary with one of the biggest changes coming to communities: completely redesigned mini profiles.
Mini profiles have always been where your identity inside a community lives, but the old layout never really gave everything enough space. For 1.3, we’ve rebuilt them to feel more like an actual profile and less like a small page filled with random information.
The new design gives your profile picture, name, level, role, bio and community details a much clearer layout. Your background is also much more visible, helping the whole profile feel more personal and connected to your style.
Community statuses
You can now add a short status to your mini profile inside each community.
This could be something useful like “Looking for roleplay partners” or “Open to chat,” or something completely unserious, which will probably happen more often.
Statuses sit near the top of your profile, so people can quickly see what you’re doing, what you’re looking for or what mood you’re bringing into the community.
Posts, Wall and Music
Mini profiles are now split into separate sections for Posts, Wall and Music.
Your posts are easier to browse, your wall has its own space for messages, and your selected music no longer has to fight the rest of the profile for attention. It makes everything much easier to explore while giving each part of the profile room to grow.
More customisation
We’re also introducing a much bigger theming system for mini profiles. You can customise your profile background, main colour and accent colour, allowing each community profile to have its own look.
That means your profile in an anime community can feel completely different from your profile in gaming, art or roleplay communities.
Some people will create perfectly matched themes. Others will create a colour combination powerful enough to damage nearby screens. Both are part of the experience.
Following and followers
Following and followers are also being added to community profiles. You’ll be able to see follower counts, view how many people someone follows and follow them directly from their mini profile.
The goal is to make it easier to keep up with people whose posts, art, writing or general presence you enjoy inside a community.
Overall, mini profiles in Deme 1.3 are becoming more personal, easier to use and much more connected to your identity inside each community.
